My little tomato plant is teaching me about business.

Hey there Reader!

This summer, I started my very own "victory garden" on the balcony of my apartment.

Actually, I started it when we were staying in temporary housing in Portland before we found our new digs. One of the tomato plants that I got from a local micro nursery cam with me to Vancouver.

It is Noember, and that plant is STILL producing fruit... and a business lesson about growth that hit closer to home than I expected.

You know those seasons when everything looks like it’s going well — more clients, more income, more opportunities — but somehow it all starts to feel heavier instead of easier? Or when you're doing everything you can to support the weight of a business that's trying to produce fruit?

That’s what this post is about: what to do when growth starts to feel like strain instead of expansion.

I’m sharing:

  • Early warning signs that growth is becoming unsustainable
  • How to tell the difference between a healthy stretch and overload
  • The “quick fixes” that often make things worse (and what to do instead)
  • The questions I ask myself — and my clients — to right-size growth again

If your success (or progress, if you're not feeling successful) has started feeling heavier than it should, this one’s for you.

Here’s to building something that actually lasts.

Until next time,

- Lisa

Heya Reader... Since I got home from my Chicago retreat, one thing became incredibly clear: Creative Freedom has run its course. I mean, I kind of already knew it before I went, but talking about the future of my work (and my life, to be frank), really solidified the decision for me. A decision I'd been circling for years, if I'm honest. For 10 years, across 8 seasons, the Creative Freedom Show was built to inspire and prepare creatives across the spectrum to have a business that works for...

Tomorrow's the day Reader! A couple of weeks ago, I told you I was heading to Chicago to do some work repositioning my brand. What I've been pretty tight-lipped about is what I'm shifting TO. Well, here's your first glimpse. Last month, I filed the trademark application for One Move That Matters™ - the approach I've been subconsciously using for decades to help clients get clarity on what's most important, make confident decisions, and take the courageous action that will move their business...

Well, hello there Reader! Last week, I told you I was heading to Chicago to do some work repositioning my brand. I'm not ready yet to go into the specifics of what the repositioning looks like, but more is coming soon. If you're in the Rising Tide community you're ahead of the curve, and if you've been a backer for the reality show, you'll be seeing a BUNCH of behind-the-scenes footage from my trip in the coming weeks! Today, though, before I hop on a plane for the Windy City I wanted to give...
