getting away from it all

I am back from vacation Reader...

We did SO MUCH WALKING in Seattle, and it was GLORIOUS!

Out little joint in the Belltown neighborhood was talking distance to all kind of cool joints. Pike's Place Market (home of the original Starbuck's location), the Space Needle, and the Museum of Pop Culture, to name a few. You can see some pictures from day one of our trip on my instagram.

Honestly, it's one of the best vacations I've had in a very long time - maybe the best one ever. There were a few things that happened that I'm still percolating on, but two things that stood out were being able to fully and publicly embody the work I've been doing behind the scenes all year. The other was getting out of my day-to-day and being almost completely disconnected from the interwebs while I was gone.

Make no mistake, being disconnected directly contributed to my ability to be fully present to who I'm becoming in this next chapter.

Honestly, I'd been struggling to connect the dots for most of the year. I was SO entrenched in doing the work in the here and now that it was hard to see and embody the "future me" that's being birthed this fall.

There's a magic in disconnection.

We talk a lot about the importance of being present. Of the power of connection. And those things ARE incredibly important.

But so is unplugging, disconnecting, and shutting down the noise of the every day so that you can see what's trying to emerge underneath.

To just be with *yourself* for a few days and really listen.

I came home refreshed and with a new level of clarity about the direction of my work that I never would have gotten without disconnecting.

Kind of like hitting the re-set button without losing your place in the game.

Would you like that kind of refresh?

This is your invitation...

October 14-17, here in the Portland area, I'm hosting my very last Creative Freedom Retreat.

This transformational, full-immersion planning retreat is for executives, entrepreneurs, and leaders who want to translate their big vision into real results for their life and work.

This whole event is about helping you step out of your day-to-day and see the bigger picture for your future... in life and work... then set the wheels in motion to make those visions your reality in the next 12 months.

Plus, you'll be one of the first to experience the new One Move That Matters™ approach and toolkit as we transition to the new direction for our company!

10 seats max. Installment plans are available. If you want to be in the room with a handful of other smart, purpose-driven leaders, I want you there.

Got questions? Hit me up. If you're feeling called to join us, this is your invitation.

Until next time,

- Lisa

P.S. This is the only event I'm doing this year. If you want to be in the room and get my eyes on your business, get registered!

Hey Reader! I’m heading into the home stretch on a couple of BIG things around here. The new website is almost ready. The new speaker reel is coming together. And I’m getting closer to showing you what this next chapter of my work actually looks like. I can't give you all the details yet, because my brand strategist would throttle me. 😉 But there’s something important I want you to know about the Creative Freedom Archive All-Access Pass: it's still growing. Yes, you’re getting more than 20...

Hellooo Reader... I'm about a week out from the last Creative Freedom Retreat and I'm already feeling nostalgic. It's the first, last, and only time these people will convene in this room for this event. I'm excited and also sad, because this event marks the end of all things Creative Freedom for me. There WILL be another retreat next year, it will just be different. Creative Freedom won't be part of it anymore and I'm having big feelings about the changes going on behind the scenes. More on...

Heya Reader... I've been wrestling with a question all year as my own business continues to change: What kind of organization am I actually trying to create? Not what I want to sell next or what makes the most money. Not even what will help the business survive, because survival isn't the same thing as preservation. I could keep my business alive by turning it into something I don't particularly want to run. I could keep doing work because people know me for it, and the business might...
