Happy Monday Reader! This week, I've been reveling in my balcony garden. Everything is edible, and I'm at the point where there's actually enough growing to snack on. I've also been doing a lot of "marinating". Last week I talked about fast and slow time, and in this part of slow time, I've had to be intentional about taking time for me. There is SO much on my plate right now that feels urgent and important. And everything can't be first. That's what I wrote about this week on the blog - figuring out how to prioritize when everything feels important. The short answer is to remember that priority isn't about IMPORTANCE, it's about SEQUENCE. In this current phase, a lot of dominoes have to fall in the right order befor other things can happen. I'm working with a stylist and my brand strtegist to develop the new wardrobe for the photoshoot and new speaker reel. Can't film anything until we know what I'm wearing, where I'm wearing it, and who's going to shoot it. All those decisions need to be made first. In the mean time, I'm reading, soaking up the sun, and snacking in my garden. I'm also lucky enough to have a co-hosting gig with my friend Leela Sinha on the Power Pivot Podcast. I've never done a co-hosted show before, so it's a real treat to get to spend my summer "vacation" sitting down to talk shop with Leela. This season is about the "best bosses" - folks who are doing right by their employees and/or their customers and have business ideas we believe should be the rule, not the exception. - a proper sandwich shop in Detroit that pays their team a living wage and has incredibly low turnover - a guy who repairs Kitchenaid mixers - and shows others how to do it, too, because he hates the idea of planned obsolescence. New episodes drop every other week. Next week, we've got an episode about a landlord that only rents to felons. Subscribe on Leela's Youtube channel to see them all. I know that's a lot in one email. So here's a way to practice prioritizing: What feels like the move that matters most right now?

Heya Reader! Walmart is rolling out digital shelf labels, and the public suspicion is already high: Are prices going to change in real time? Will shoppers be tracked? Is this efficiency… or manipulation? To be fair, Walmart has said this isn’t about surge pricing. But companies have a long history of saying one thing and doing another, so the mistrust isn’t coming out of nowhere. Once customers start asking, “Can I trust how this price got here?” you’re no longer just making an operations...

"There's no easy 'yes' here. They all have risk."That's what my brand strategist said to me as we were debating the different proposals submitted for my speaker reel project. There was no perfect offer. Each one had upsides and downsides. At one point, I kind of wanted to flip the tables and walk away."I'll just do it my own damn self," I thought to myself. It would be faster. It would probably cost a lot less. I'd have complete control of the project, and it would be "good enough." But then,...
